Session 1: Flip the Grip - Shoulder Mobility and You

Taking the time to understand your shoulder anatomy is a game-changer for a long-term yoga practice. After an enthusiastic overview of the shoulder girdle, Amy will help you to align more effectively in all your chest- and quad-opening poses, standing poses, sun salutations, and backbends. Boost your mood as you approach hand-to-foot backbends, not as the goal of the practice but the journey of opening your chest and heart for the attempt. And who knows, maybe it will happen today! Modifications abound, so take the leap and come along for the ride! Bring a strap or a belt, and get ready for breakthroughs.

 

Session 2: Simply Irresistible - Hamstrings, Hips, and Lower Back

Breathe new life into your lower body with a delicious spectrum of hamstring, hip, and lower back poses modified for therapeutic relief and benefit. Perfect if you want more freedom and ease in your lower body so you can shine more brightly. Walk away feeling free, uplifted, and unstoppable! Great if you need a more therapeutic and gentle, but totally fortifying practice.

 

Session 3: Set Yourself Free - The Psoas Unleashed

The psoas muscle is a big deal in yoga - it connects your legs to your spine! A portal to deep flexibility, power, and grace in your practice, this is one muscle you’ll want to get to know well in order to sustain a long-term practice and gain more freedom in your body as you age. After an enthusiastic anatomical overview of the psoas, Amy will help you to align your psoas effectively in a variety of her favourite psoas-opening poses. You will walk away feeling taller, lighter, stronger, and like anything is possible.

Session 4: Inversions - Upside Down is The New Right Side Up

Yogis spend a huge part of their time looking at the world from the bottom up - and what a healthy choice on so many levels! If you’re craving more upside-down time but want to discover how to perform inversions with more ease, grace, and power, then come on down! Learn tricks for kicking up, balancing with and without using the wall, ways to open your shoulders, boost your confidence, and connect to a playful, positive spirit.
